MISSION

EDUCATION

YES4DO Africa's mission is to provide entrepreneurial development training and after school activities to every young person in Africa by 2040. We envision an educated, employed African youth who will grow to be successful business leaders, high class athletes and experts on creating a sustainable Africa.
With education, Africa’s youth have the power to solve the continent’s toughest problems and greatest challenges. YES4DO's Entrepreneurship Development Program will equip Africa’s youth with education they  will need to bring wealth to themselves and the continent.

OBJECTIVES

CLIENTS

YES4DO eradicates poverty and unemployment amongst youth globally and particularly in Africa  by providing educational courses on sustainable development, personal, business, and diverse sports activities such as soccer and tennis, e-commerce, agribusiness, accounting, and diverse after school activities.
Reduce gender inequality by ensuring that girls have equal access to a quality education, access to opportunities and access to financial resources that are beneficial and dire for their future careers.

With this knowledge, youth can begin to providing paid training jobs on responsible consumption and production to organizations and corporations.
Increase Africa’s agricultural productivity and food security by educating youth on agribusiness opportunities that are viable for rain-fed and low rain-fed areas.

SKILLS

FOUNDATION COURSES

In this course, students will learn how to become more employable for the job. We will focus on the following skills through a variety of tasks, assignments, and workshops:

- Soccer and Tennis
- Commercial awareness
- Communication
- Teamwork
- Negotiation and persuasion
- Problem solving
- Leadership
- Organization

Introduction to Self-Employment
For example in 2019, the unemployment rate in Senegal was 6.52%. A college degree is not a guarantee for a person to get a job. Many African youth finished their colleges education and ended up doing low skills jobs or go for adventures to developing western countries to find decent jobs.
A substantial amount of Africa’s youth sit and wait in the midst of trying to find a job. In this course students will learn how to generate passive income and how to engage in temporary self-employment.

With activities and assessments, students will begin to reflect on the skills they currently have. They will evaluate their strongest capabilities. What are they good at? Do they enjoy doing it? Is there a demand for this skill in the formal or informal market?
After the skill assessment, students will  be introduced the concept of “passive income”. They will learn how to monetize their skills.  Students who are not able to think of any skills will also have opportunities. They will be introduced to opportunities such as buying onions in bulk and selling them already cut in packages etc. Not every student will be cut out to be an entrepreneur and this class will be able to provide an assessment.

Entrepreneurship
How do you turn an idea into a business? Entrepreneurship focuses on recognizing a business opportunity, starting a business, operating and maintaining a business. Students will be exposed to the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation in this course as they will either be the business owner or individuals working in a competitive job market in the future.

This course will engage students in the creation and management of a business and the challenges of being a small business owner will be fulfilled in this course. Various forms of technologies will be used to expose students to resources and application of business principles for starting, operating and maintaining a business.

Professional communication skills and practices, problem-solving, ethical and legal issues, and the impact of effective presentation skills are enhanced in this course to prepare students to be college and career ready. Employability skills are integrated into activities, tasks, and projects throughout the course standards to demonstrate the skills required by business and industry.

Students will work to develop a business plan that includes structuring the organization, financing the organization, and managing information, operations, marketing, and human resources will be a focus in the course.

Finance & Marketing
Integration of accounting, finance, marketing, business management, legal and economic environments will be developed throughout projects in this course.
